Express Entry Category for Healthcare and Social Services

In February 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) expanded the Express Entry system's Healthcare category to include Social Services occupations. This update aims to address labor shortages in these sectors by broadening the range of eligible professions for permanent residency. Notably, Social Workers (NOC 41300) and Social and Community Service Workers (NOC 42201) were added, while certain roles like Educational Counsellors (NOC 41320) were removed to better target areas of high demand.
